A bitter confrontation has broken out between former President Donald Trump and his longtime supporter, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, centring on her push to make more Jeffrey Epstein investigation files public.

The dispute comes just days before a planned House vote on a measure to force the release of documents related to Epstein’s criminal network.

Greene, a prominent Republican, has sharply criticized Trump for opposing broad transparency: she called his resistance to releasing the files “a huge miscalculation” and argued that “rich, powerful people should not be protected.”

In a televised interview, she said she has spoken directly with Epstein survivors who believe Trump did nothing wrong, yet she still supports disclosure in the name of accountability.

In response, Trump publicly withdrew his endorsement of Greene, calling her a “ranting lunatic” and declaring he would back a primary challenger should someone step forward in her Georgia district.

He posted that all he sees her doing lately is “complain, complain, complain,” framing her demands on Epstein materials as both politically risky and disloyal.

Greene fired back on social media, posting screenshots of texts she claims she sent to Trump, urging him to support the Epstein files vote messages she says “sent him over the edge.” She accused him of turning on her to “make an example” of her and intimidate other Republicans ahead of the crucial vote.

She also revealed that she’s received “warnings for my safety,” allegedly from private security firms, due to what she described as a “hotbed of threats … being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.” Greene said she now has a small understanding of what Epstein’s victims must have felt under pressure and fear decades ago.

The clash highlights deepening fractures within the MAGA-aligned wing of the Republican Party. Trump’s distancing from Greene, once one of his most vocal and loyal allies-underscores how the Epstein files issue is realigning political alliances, even among his closest supporters.

As the House approaches the vote, Greene remains committed to her push for transparency. She has said she “stands with the women” who survived Epstein’s abuse and is calling for a “new way forward,” suggesting she may no longer play by the old rules of MAGA loyalty.
