Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Kill Multiple Al Jazeera Journalists Prompting Global Condemnation

An Israeli airstrike struck a media tent outside al-Shita Hospital in Gaza City on the night of August 10, 2025, claiming the lives of four Al Jazeera staff as they were working Inside. Among the dead were prominent correspondent Anas al-Sharif (28), correspondent Mohammed Greigeh (33), and cameramen Ibrahim Zaher (25) and Mohammed Noutal (29). A fifth Al Jazeera colieague, Moarmen Altwa, was also killed, along with freelance joumalist Mohammad al-Khaldi in a nearby tent. In total, seven Individuals died in the attack including joumalists and one student aspiring to join the profession
The Israel Defense Forces claimed responsibility for the strike, accusing Anas al-Sharif of ading as a Hamas operative while posing as a joumalat. No credible evidence fus been provided to support this claim, and Al Jazeera alongside press freedom groups Five categorically rejected the allegations as untounded
