COVID-19 Update: 3 Deaths, 36 New Cases Reported in 24 Hours

Today until 8 a.m. Sunday, three new COVID-19-related deaths have been reported in Bangladesh, according to data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). This marks a slight decrease from the previous day’s figure of five deaths—the highest single-day toll recorded in over two and a half years.
In the same 24-hour period, 36 people tested positive for COVID-19 from a total of 621 tests, reflecting a positivity rate of approximately 5.8%. The testing and infection figures remain consistent with recent days, indicating ongoing but controlled transmission.
With these latest figures, the total number of COVID-related deaths in the country has risen to 29,515, while the cumulative number of confirmed cases stands at over 2.05 million since the pandemic began.
So far in 2025, Bangladesh has reported 16 COVID-related deaths and 433 new infections. Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public—especially vulnerable groups—to remain cautious, practice hygiene measures, and stay updated on booster vaccination schedules.
