Probe Committee Formed Over Death of Six Newborns at Ad-din Hospital

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has formed a three-member investigation committee following the deaths of six newborns at Ad-din Medical College Hospital in the capital’s Moghbazar area.
The decision was announced through an official order issued on Wednesday by the Private Healthcare Management-1 branch of the Health Services Division.
According to the ministry, the committee has been tasked with investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths and recommending measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The panel has been instructed to submit its report within three working days.
A joint secretary from the Private Healthcare Management branch of the Health Services Division has been appointed as the head of the committee. Other members include an assistant director from the legal wing of the Directorate General of Health Services and a deputy director from the Hospital-1 division, who will serve as member secretary.
The office order also stated that the committee may co-opt additional members if necessary during the investigation process.
The inquiry panel will examine the causes behind the newborn deaths and suggest necessary corrective actions after completing its investigation.
