Car trading remained brisk in the capital despite persistent rainfall as the sixth edition of the ‘Super Sale Car Market’ attracted buyers and sellers to Expo Village at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). Organised every Friday, the event witnessed a strong turnout, prompting organisers to extend its operating hours in response to growing interest from buyers.
The market is a joint initiative of Wizard Showbiz and ICCB, offering buyers and sellers a common venue to explore and trade new, reconditioned and used vehicles. Following the success of the previous five weeks, the sixth edition also drew car enthusiasts and created a lively atmosphere throughout the venue.
Despite heavy rain throughout the day, activity continued inside ICCB’s Expo Village. Visitors inspected vehicles, negotiated prices with sellers and sought information about bank financing options for purchasing cars. Sellers from different parts of the country also brought their vehicles to the venue, while buyers and other visitors turned out in significant numbers despite the adverse weather.
The Super Sale Car Market offers opportunities to buy and sell motorcycles as well as cars. Buyers can compare and select vehicles according to their preferences, while owners can sell their used cars or motorcycles directly without intermediaries.
According to the organisers, the event reduces the time and effort buyers would otherwise spend visiting multiple showrooms. Under one roof, visitors can explore new, used and reconditioned vehicles from different businesses. The organisers say buyers can experience in one location what would otherwise require visits to around 50 showrooms.
The organisers also said the air-conditioned environment at Expo Village allows vehicle inspections and transactions to continue comfortably, regardless of rain or sunshine. Providing a convenient setting for buyers and sellers, along with opportunities for direct transactions without brokers, is among the key objectives of the initiative.
Mehedi Hasan Molla, brand and marketing manager of ICCB, told Bangladesh Pratidin that the sixth edition of the Super Sale Car Market was underway after nearly one and a half months of regular operations.
“Although heavy rain continued throughout the day from the morning, the excellent environment inside ICCB’s Expo Village, where everything is available under one roof, meant that the adverse weather outside had no negative impact on the car market. Despite the unfavourable weather, a large number of buyers, visitors and sellers participated spontaneously,” he said.
Molla added that the operating hours had been extended by one hour because more buyers and visitors were arriving in the evening in Dhaka. The Super Sale Car Market is now officially open every Friday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
