LPG Traders Withdraw Indefinite Strike After Talks With Energy Regulator

The indefinite nationwide strike on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) marketing and supply has been withdrawn, bringing relief to consumers across Bangladesh.
The decision was announced on Thursday by the LPG Traders’ Cooperative Society Limited following a meeting with the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting at the regulator’s office, the organization's president, Md Selim Khan, said the strike had been called off with immediate effect, allowing LPG distribution and sales to resume across the country.
During the meeting, leaders of the traders’ association raised three key demands. These included the immediate suspension of ongoing administrative drives against LPG businesses nationwide, an increase in charges payable to distributors and retail sellers, and measures to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply throughout the country.
The strike had caused significant disruption over the previous days, leaving many households without cooking gas and forcing consumers to seek alternative arrangements. With the withdrawal of the work stoppage, normal LPG supply is expected to gradually return, easing pressure on households and commercial users alike.
