Expatriates Can Cast Postal Votes from Wednesday Evening
Published : 14:50, 21 January 2026
Expatriate Bangladeshi voters have been given the opportunity to cast their votes through the postal voting system starting from Wednesday evening for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the national referendum.
According to a message issued by the Election Commission, registered expatriate voters will be able to vote from 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, by following the prescribed procedures through the “Postal Vote BD” mobile application. Voters may also obtain voting-related instructions and information from the Election Commission’s official website or mobile app.
Only those expatriate voters who have successfully completed registration on the “Postal Vote BD” application will be eligible to participate in the voting process. After casting their vote, voters are required to place the completed ballot in the designated yellow envelope.
The Election Commission has instructed that the sealed yellow envelope must be submitted to the nearest post office or dropped into a mailbox by January 25, 2026, to ensure the vote is considered valid.
This initiative aims to facilitate the participation of Bangladeshi citizens living abroad in the democratic process by enabling them to exercise their voting rights remotely through a structured and time-bound postal voting mechanism.
