New Executive Committee Formed for Digital Media Forum

The Digital Media Forum (DMF)—an organization working for the professional development of digital journalism and the protection of journalists’ rights—has announced its new Executive Committee for a two-year term.
Based on the opinions of attending members, Md. Delowar Hossain, Senior Manager (Digital Business) at Asian Television, has been nominated as President. Ariful Islam, Head of Business Development at NPB News, has been nominated as Senior Vice President. At the same time, Tanjil Alom Rifat, Director of Communication at Tyger Media, has been appointed Vice President.
Dr. Thrina Islam, Senior Presenter at Green TV, has been nominated as General Secretary. Fakhrul Islam, Chief Multimedia Reporter, has been appointed Senior Joint General Secretary, and Mohiuddin Manik, Deputy Manager at Global Television, has been appointed Joint General Secretary.
Other key positions in the committee include Jony Rayhan, Head of Digital at Daily Rupali Bangladesh, as Organizing Secretary; Paran Majhi, Senior Executive (Broadcast) at Jago News, as Assistant Organizing Secretary; Advocate Alauddin Al Azad as Legal Affairs Secretary; Nazim Uddin Rafael, Manager at Channel 71, as Publicity Secretary; Moin Uddin Ratul, Assistant Manager at Deepto TV, as Finance Secretary; and Raihan Uddin Robin, Manager (Digital Marketing) at The Business Standard, as Assistant Finance Secretary.
In addition, Aresul Islam Russell, Assistant Manager at DBC Television, has been appointed Office Secretary, with Mithun, Head of Digital at SoddoSongbad, as Deputy Office Secretary. Aklima Akter, Senior Executive (Broadcast) at Global Television, has been named Health Affairs Secretary; Mim Akter, Reporter at BTV, as Women Affairs Secretary; Solaiman Shawon, Senior Reporter at Daily Rupali Bangladesh, as ICT Affairs Secretary; Mostofa Sojol, Assistant Producer at Nexus Television, as Cultural Affairs Secretary; and Mahmudur Rahman, Publisher of Cricket 97, as Sports Affairs Secretary.
The newly formed executive committee also includes several Executive Members: Abbas Uddin Nayan, Chief Reporter at The Business Standard; Tanaja Afrin, Newsroom Editor at Protidiner Bangladesh; Morshed Alam, Content Creator at Banglavision Digital; Ruhul Amin, Senior Video Editor at Jugantor; Md. Eleyas Akon, Senior Multimedia Reporter at Ekattor TV, and Anwar Hossain, Senior Executive at Bangla Tribune.
At the time of the committee announcement, members of the DMF Advisory Council present included Mizanur Rahman Sohel, Online Editor of Kalbela, and Masud Bin Abdur Razzak, News Editor (Online In-Charge) of Deepto TV.
Stakeholders expressed optimism that the newly appointed committee of Digital Media Forum (DMF) will work proactively over the next two years to enhance professional standards, build skills among digital journalists, and further strengthen the organization’s role in Bangladesh’s digital media landscape.
