Government Extends Election Holiday, Declares February 11 a General Holiday

Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, the government has declared an additional general holiday on February 11 (Wednesday), one day before the scheduled polling day.
The interim government had earlier announced a general holiday on the election day. The latest decision extends the holiday by another day to ensure uninterrupted election preparations.
The decision was finalized during a meeting of the Advisory Council on Thursday, January 22.
Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed the development while briefing reporters at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka later in the day.
Authorities believe the extended holiday will help ensure smooth electoral arrangements and encourage voter participation.
