BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the “Free Animal Clinic” established by the Bangladesh Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) as part of its humanitarian and animal welfare initiatives.

During the visit, Tarique Rahman observed the medical services being provided at the clinic and exchanged views with organisers, veterinary professionals, and volunteers involved in the initiative. The clinic, founded under BAWA’s supervision, offers free treatment and basic healthcare services for animals, particularly stray and underprivileged pets.

Officials associated with the project stated that the clinic was set up to promote compassion toward animals and to expand access to veterinary care for those unable to afford private services. Services include primary health checkups, vaccinations, and emergency treatment support.

Tarique Rahman appreciated the efforts of the organisation and acknowledged the importance of institutional support for animal welfare in Bangladesh. He emphasized that humane treatment of animals reflects broader social responsibility and civic awareness.

Representatives from BAWA highlighted their ongoing activities in awareness-building, rescue operations, and medical outreach programs. They also expressed hope that increased public engagement would strengthen animal welfare practices nationwide.

The visit drew attention to the role of civil society initiatives in addressing animal healthcare needs and promoting ethical treatment standards.
