The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a massive missile strike on a U.S. military base in the Middle East, reporting that 650 American soldiers were killed or injured in the attack.
According to the IRGC, the missile strike targeted a major U.S. military facility in Iraq, where several high-ranking personnel were reportedly among the casualties. The IRGC spokesperson described the attack as a retaliation for previous U.S. actions against Iranian interests and allied groups in the region.
U.S. military officials have not yet confirmed the number of casualties, but sources within the Pentagon have acknowledged that the attack caused significant damage to U.S. assets and personnel stationed in the region.
The escalation comes amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States, particularly regarding issues related to Iran’s nuclear program and its role in supporting proxy groups across the Middle East.
Both military and diplomatic channels are being actively engaged to assess the full extent of the damage and the possible ramifications of this strike on regional security. There have been increasing calls for de-escalation and a renewed focus on diplomatic efforts to prevent further conflict.
