War in the Middle East: 147 Flights Canceled from Shahjalal Airport Until Tuesday Afternoon
Published : 15:29, 3 March 2026
A total of 147 flights have been canceled at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, which has severely disrupted international air travel.
According to airport authorities, the cancellations, which have affected both outbound and inbound flights, are the result of aviation restrictions, airspace closures, and logistical challenges linked to the conflict.
Many of the canceled flights were bound for Middle Eastern destinations, including cities in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, where airlines have either temporarily suspended operations or altered routes.
Passengers have been urged to check with their respective airlines for updated flight statuses and rebooking options. The airport authorities have also advised travelers to allow extra time for possible delays and security measures.
Airport officials confirmed that emergency operations and cargo flights were continuing, but commercial passenger flights to and from certain Middle Eastern countries were expected to be affected for an indefinite period. The cancellations come as air traffic to and from conflict zones in the Middle East remains disrupted.
The situation is being closely monitored by both the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh and international aviation bodies, which are coordinating to ensure the safety of air travel.
