The interim government of Bangladesh has formally committed to financing all medical expenses related to the treatment of Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a prospective independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 parliamentary constituency, following the severe injuries he sustained in a targeted shooting incident.
The Finance Adviser, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, publicly stated that the government has made all necessary budgetary provisions to ensure that financial constraints will not impede Hadi’s access to advanced medical care abroad.
He emphasized that once informed of Hadi’s critical condition, state authorities expedited the allocation of funding and logistical arrangements required for overseas treatment.
The announcement underscores that treatment costs, including those associated with international medical transfer and care, will be borne by the government.
Government officials clarified that an air ambulance has been arranged for Hadi’s transfer to Singapore, where he is to receive specialised treatment unavailable domestically.
This decision followed consultations among medical experts, senior advisers, and Hadi’s family, taking into account his ongoing clinical condition.
The declaration of full state support came amid active government engagement with Hadi’s family and medical teams to coordinate both local intensive treatment and the planned overseas transfer.
In related developments, the Chief Adviser has communicated with Hadi’s relatives, assuring them of comprehensive governmental support and best possible care, including arrangements for treatment either at home or abroad as dictated by medical necessity.
Continued governmental oversight aims to ensure that financial considerations do not delay or limit Hadi’s access to requisite medical interventions.
