Khaleda Zia to Receive ‘Best Indomitable Woman in the Advancement of Democracy’ Award Image collected

Former Prime Minister and BNP's late Chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia, is set to be honored with the prestigious ‘Best Indomitable Woman in the Advancement of Democracy’ award in recognition of her significant contributions to democracy and leadership.

The award will be presented on the occasion of International Women's Day under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs’ Indomitable Woman Award program.

According to an official press release signed by the Ministry's Public Relations Officer Tahmina Akhter, Begum Khaleda Zia has been described as the "daughter of democracy."

The award is being given to her for her uncompromising struggle to restore democracy and her outstanding leadership in establishing democratic norms in the country.

The press release further noted that, as in previous years, five women will be honored with the ‘Best Indomitable Woman’ award in various categories. The awardees are:

Nurun Nahar Akhter, for success in economic achievements.

Mosha. Babita Khatun, for success in education and employment.

Nurbanun Kabir, for being a successful mother.

Mosha. Shamla Begum, for overcoming adversity and succeeding in life.

Mosha. Afroza Yasmin, for her outstanding contribution to social development.

The awards are aimed at recognizing the incredible resilience and achievements of women in various fields and empowering them further.
