The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) has released additional FBI files related to Jeffrey Epstein that include unverified allegations against former U.S. President Donald Trump, after the documents were previously withheld due to an internal coding error.
The newly published documents comprise multiple FBI interview summaries from 2019 involving an unidentified woman who alleged that she was sexually abused by Epstein when she was a minor and later claimed that Trump attempted to force her into a sexual act in the 1980s when she was between 13 and 15 years old, after Epstein introduced them.
The Justice Department acknowledged that the records had not been included in earlier releases because they had been mistakenly labeled as “duplicative” during previous reviews.
The DOJ has stressed that these allegations remain unproven and uncorroborated, and that such claims were previously excluded from public releases due to errors. The department also noted that some previously published materials contain “sensationalist or possibly untrue claims against President Trump.”
In response to the disclosures, White House representatives have dismissed the claims as baseless and lacking credible evidence, while Trump has denied any wrongdoing in connection with the allegations.
The release follows heightened congressional scrutiny of the DOJ’s handling of Epstein‑related files, including the enforcement of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a law that mandates the public release of documents connected to the investigations and prosecutions related to Epstein.
Lawmakers from both parties have criticized delays and errors in the release process, with some pushing for further oversight into how files were previously withheld.
