Israel has recorded substantial voter participation in its latest Knesset election, with turnout reaching 77.7%. According to figures attributed to the Central Elections Committee, this is the country's highest parliamentary election turnout since 1999.
The published statistics indicate that approximately 7.33 million citizens were eligible to vote. More than 5.69 million voters reportedly cast their ballots, reflecting a high level of participation in the parliamentary election.
Turnout Rises Compared With the 2022 Election
Voter turnout in Israel's 2022 Knesset election stood at 70.63%. The latest figure represents an increase of approximately 7.1 percentage points, marking a notable rise compared with the previous parliamentary election.
Israel's previous major turnout benchmark was recorded in 1999, when 78.7% of eligible voters participated. Nearly 27 years later, the latest election has brought turnout close to that historical level.
Voting Continues From Morning Until Night
According to the report, polling began at 7 a.m. local time on Tuesday, October 27, and continued until 10 p.m. Voting concluded after the scheduled polling period.
The turnout figure places renewed attention on public participation in Israel's parliamentary electoral process. However, turnout alone does not establish which political parties received the most support or determine the final election outcome.
