This week Bangladesh's stock market showed a promising upward trend reflecting growing investor confidence Despite a bank holiday on Tuesday July 1 which kept trading closed for a day the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange DSE ended higher on three out of the four remaining trading days This steady performance brought relief to many investors

The week began on Monday June 30 with a slight drop of just one point in the DSE's benchmark index However the market recovered quickly
Sunday index rose by around 7 points
Wednesday gained nearly 27 points
Thursday added another 2873 points

Over the course of the week the DSEX rose from 483213 to 489406 marking a net increase of 63 points This consistent growth is being viewed as a sign of returning investor trust and could indicate long term market stability

Though daily turnover figures fluctuated slightly the overall trend was positive

Monday dropped to BDT 46453 crore
Wednesday increased to BDT 47952 crore

Market analysts believe that this consistent rise in the indices coupled with a moderate increase in turnover signals a potential return to stability in the country's capital market After a period of volatility and investor unease this week’s positive outcome is being interpreted as an early sign of recovery

If macroeconomic stability and institutional investment continue to improve the market could gain further strength in the coming months Experts remain cautiously optimistic that Bangladesh’s stock market is gradually entering a stable and promising phase offering opportunities for both retail and institutional investors
