The government is set to introduce major business-friendly reforms in the proposed FY2026-27 budget, including a mandatory online single-window system for approvals and licensing procedures.

Under the proposed initiative, business licenses will be issued within a maximum of seven days from the date of application. The government also plans to simplify company registration processes, with a target of completing registrations within 48 hours.

The proposed budget for FY2026-27 has been set at Tk 938,000 crore, while revenue collection is projected at Tk 695,000 crore, resulting in an estimated budget deficit of Tk 243,000 crore.

To finance the deficit, the government plans to secure Tk 116,000 crore through foreign loans and grants and Tk 127,000 crore from domestic sources. Of the domestic financing, Tk 112,000 crore is expected to come from the banking sector, while Tk 15,000 crore will be raised through savings certificates and other sources.

The budget will be presented in Parliament under the chairmanship of Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and in the presence of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. It will be Bangladesh’s 55th national budget and the first budget to be presented by Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
