Arifur Rahman, the Additional Chief Engineer of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), has been temporarily suspended following allegations of negligence, corruption, and misappropriation of funds.

According to the official statement, Arifur Rahman violated several laws, including the Financial Powers Delegation-2025, Public Procurement Law-2006, and Public Procurement Regulations-2025, by improperly conducting procurement activities. His actions were found to be in violation of the DNCC Employees Service Rules-2019, specifically Regulation 49 (ka, kha, gha, nga, and cha sub-regulations), leading to charges of neglect of duty, misconduct, incompetence, corruption, and fund misappropriation.

As a result, Arifur Rahman has been temporarily suspended from his duties as part of an ongoing investigation into the allegations. The suspension aims to ensure a fair inquiry into the charges and prevent any further mishandling of public funds.

The DNCC stated that further action would be taken following the investigation, and additional measures would be introduced to ensure accountability within the organization.
