Due to the ongoing war conditions in the Middle East, several air routes to multiple countries in the region have been closed. As of Sunday, March 8, an additional 36 flights have been canceled, bringing the total number of canceled flights to 300 over the last 9 days.
A recent emergency notice from Biman Bangladesh Airlines stated that flights to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, and Dammam have been temporarily suspended. The airline confirmed that these routes will remain suspended until further notice. However, flights to other destinations in the Middle East, such as Jeddah, Medina, Riyadh, and Muscat, are still operating.
The flight cancellations have impacted various airlines, with 2 flights to Kuwait, 4 to Qatar, 4 to Emirates, 6 to Air Arabia, 4 to Jazeera Airways, 2 to FlyDubai, 2 to Gulf Air, and 2 to Saudia Airlines being canceled on Sunday alone.
The conflict in the Middle East, along with ongoing security concerns, has disrupted multiple travel routes, leading to significant inconvenience for passengers. The Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority and airlines have advised passengers to regularly check the status of their flights and avoid unnecessary travel.
