Suspect Detained Within 36 Hours of Snatching Incident in Bashundhara

A man was detained within 36 hours of an alleged snatching incident in Dhaka’s Bashundhara Residential Area, in which a woman reportedly lost her bag and mobile phone. Security personnel identified the suspect by analysing CCTV footage and images of the motorcycle allegedly used during the incident, according to concerned officials.
The incident reportedly took place recently when a woman was walking along a road in the Bashundhara Residential Area. Her bag and mobile phone were allegedly snatched during the incident.

Following the report, security personnel collected and reviewed CCTV footage from cameras installed at nearby locations. They also collected images of a motorcycle believed to have been used during the incident.

After analysing the available information, security personnel identified a man named Golam Rafi Khan as a suspect in the incident. He was subsequently detained from a residence on Road 10 in Block I of the Bashundhara Residential Area, approximately 36 hours after the incident.

According to information provided by concerned individuals, Golam Rafi Khan has been living in the Bashundhara Residential Area for a long period.

Security personnel claimed that during questioning after his detention, the man admitted to being involved in the incident. They also said he made statements regarding drug use. A video of his statement was reportedly recorded by the security personnel.

However, the claims and the alleged involvement of the detained individual will be subject to verification through the legal process, officials said.

CCTV footage, motorcycle images and other relevant information related to the incident have been preserved. The materials have reportedly been handed over to law enforcement authorities for further investigation.

The suspect was later handed over to police for legal action. Police are expected to investigate the incident and take necessary legal measures based on their findings.

The swift review of CCTV footage and analysis of available information by the residential area’s security personnel have been cited by concerned parties as key factors in identifying and detaining the suspect within a short period.
