Amar Ekushey Book Fair Concludes Today: Awards and Recognition Ceremony Held

The Amar Ekushey Book Fair is concluding today, Sunday, March 15. The fair will be open from 2 PM to 9 PM today, marking the end of this year's event.
At 3 PM, the closing ceremony will take place, where Professor Mohammad Azam, the Director General of Bangla Academy, will deliver the welcoming speech. The Secretary of the Organizing Committee of Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026, Md. Selim Reza, will present a report on the fair’s progress.
The ceremony will be graced by the Minister of Culture, Nitai Roy Chowdhury, as the Chief Guest and Ali Nawaz Mahmud Khayem, the State Minister for Culture, as a Special Guest. Md. Mofidur Rahman, the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, will also offer greetings during the event.
As part of the tradition, several prestigious literary awards will be given, including the Chittaranjan Saha Memorial Award, Munir Chowdhury Memorial Award, Rokonuzzaman Khan Dada Bhai Memorial Award, Sardar Joyenuddin Memorial Award, and Artist Kayum Chowdhury Memorial Award.
The president of Bangla Academy, Professor Abul Kasem Fazlul Haque, will preside over the ceremony.
The recipients of this year's awards are as follows:
Chittaranjan Saha Memorial Award: Katha Prakash for publishing the largest number of quality books in 2025.
Munir Chowdhury Memorial Award: The Itihash Publication House for the best books in terms of quality and artistic value, including works such as “Kali-Kalam Ar Kaghaz-er Odd Research” and “Fountain Pen, Amin Babu”.
Rokonuzzaman Khan Dada Bhai Memorial Award: Panjiri Publications for publishing the highest number of children's books in 2025.
Sardar Joyenuddin Memorial Award: Sahaj Prakash for publishing the highest number of quality books among first-time participants at the fair in 2024 and 2025.
Artist Kayum Chowdhury Memorial Award: Creative Dhaka Publications, Matra Prakash, and Bengal Books for their best artistic presentation at the fair.
