In a remarkable solo achievement, Bimal, a software developer currently working at Circle Data Processing & Research Center (CDPRC), has successfully developed and deployed a powerful REST API-based accounting software. Tailored to meet the needs of both companies and individual professionals, the project stands as a testament to dedication and technical excellence.

Developed over a period of 1.5 years, this REST API-based solution has been built using the modern NestJS framework and TypeScript. The system is already in use within CDPRC’s internal projects and has been integrated into PMS (Property Management System), a web platform that manages residential and commercial properties.

“I wanted to create something that could be used by anyone—whether a small business owner or a large organization,” said Bimal. “The accounting system is flexible, scalable, and built to adapt to various business needs.”

The software provides end-to-end support for key financial activities, including managing customers and vendors, generating invoices and bills, handling advance payments, and automatically adjusting those advances against future transactions. It also includes dynamic financial reporting tools such as general ledger reports, balance reports, and transaction summaries. The system supports both accrual and cash-based accounting models, making it suitable for diverse industries.

One of the project’s standout features is its real-time integration capability, allowing the API to work seamlessly with frontend applications, ERP platforms, or mobile apps.

The accounting log system has already made a practical impact. In the PMS application, it is currently used to manage rent transactions, vendor payments, and financial tracking with automation at its core.

Bimal’s work exemplifies the growing talent in Bangladesh’s tech industry, and he hopes to expand the project further- potentially as an open-source initiative or a product offering for businesses seeking reliable financial infrastructure.
