The first budget session of Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliament is set to begin tomorrow, marking a significant milestone for the government formed following the February 12 parliamentary elections.

The session, which will be the second session of the 13th Parliament, is scheduled to commence at 3:00 pm at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

According to parliamentary sources, Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury is expected to present the proposed national budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year on June 11. As the first budget of the current government, it is expected to outline key economic priorities and development strategies.

The session was formally convened by President  Mohammad Shahabuddin on May 7 under Article 72(1) of the Constitution of Bangladesh.

The inaugural session of the 13th Parliament concluded on April 30. During its 25 working days, lawmakers passed a total of 94 bills, reflecting an active legislative agenda in the early days of the new parliament.

The upcoming budget session is expected to feature extensive discussions on economic management, inflation control, employment generation, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and other key national priorities.
