US May Withdraw Support for Ukraine, Warns Donald Trump Jr.

Donald Trump Jr. has suggested that the United States might discontinue its support for Ukraine in its war against Russia, indicating a possible shift in U.S. policy should his father’s administration remain in office.
Speaking at a conference in Doha, he criticised Ukraine’s leadership, calling Volodymyr Zelenskyy corrupt and alleging that many Ukrainian elites had fled abroad, leaving ordinary citizens to bear the burden of war. He argued that Zelenskyy has little incentive to end the conflict because doing so could jeopardise his political standing.
Trump Jr. further claimed that U.S. taxpayers no longer view the Ukraine war as a priority, pointing instead to pressing domestic issues such as drug trafficking. He accused Ukrainian oligarchs of misusing Western aid while ordinary Ukrainians continue to suffer.
Concluding his remarks, he said the United States would no longer be “the idiot with the chequebook,” implying that continued financial or military backing may end under the next administration.
Though Trump Jr. holds no formal governmental role, his comments reflect growing scepticism within his political circle regarding continued American involvement in Ukraine.
The remarks are being interpreted as a signal that President Donald Trump’s administration could significantly scale back or even withdraw U.S. support for Ukraine, a development with potential implications for the ongoing conflict and for U.S. relations with European allies.
