Argentina began their latest international break with a convincing 4-0 victory over Bolivia on Thursday at the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium in Cordoba.

With Lionel Messi set to bring his international career to an end, Argentina are entering a new chapter. Before Messi’s farewell appearance, Lionel Scaloni’s side marked the occasion with a commanding home victory.

Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring in the 19th minute, giving Argentina an early advantage. Nico Paz doubled the lead 10 minutes later as the hosts went into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.

Argentina added a third goal in the 54th minute through Cristian Romero, who has taken over the captaincy following Messi’s decision to step away from international football.

Jose Manuel Lopez completed the rout in the 86th minute. The forward produced an impressive individual effort, beating three Bolivian defenders before finding the back of the net.

Argentina have two more matches scheduled during the current international break. They will face Burkina Faso on October 3 before taking on Benin on October 6.

The match against Benin is set to be Messi’s final appearance in the Argentina shirt. Both matches are scheduled to be played at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires.
