Bangladesh women’s cricket team suffered a 70-run defeat against Queensland Fire in a warm-up match ahead of their upcoming ODI series against Australia. Bangladesh lost the 36-over contest on Tuesday, October 6.

Batting first, Queensland Fire posted 266 for 9 in their allotted 36 overs. The hosts put Bangladesh’s bowlers under pressure from the beginning with aggressive batting.

Nott was the top scorer with 94 runs, while Harris smashed 76 off just 50 balls. Winfield-Hill added 48 runs to the total.

For Bangladesh, Pinky was the standout bowler with four wickets, while Marufa Akter claimed two.

Chasing 267, Bangladesh struggled early in the innings. Fargana Hoque was dismissed for 16 before Sharmin Sultana followed for 28, increasing the pressure on the visitors.

Bangladesh then found some resistance through Sobhana Mostary and Sharmin Supta. Supta scored 68 from 67 balls, while Sobhana contributed 49 off 54 deliveries. Their efforts gave Bangladesh some momentum, but they could not sustain the chase.

Bangladesh finished on 196 for 7 after 36 overs, falling 70 runs short of the target. Hancock took three wickets for Queensland Fire, while Basingthwaite, Susie and Harris claimed one wicket each.
