Gold Prices Surge in Bangladesh, Up by Tk 6,590 Per Bhori Image collected

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to increase gold prices in the local market once again. According to the new decision, the price of 22-carat gold has been raised by Tk 6,590 per bhori, setting the new price at Tk 252,409 per bhori.


The information was announced in a statement issued by BAJUS on Wednesday (April 8). The association said the price adjustment was made due to the increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.
Under the revised pricing, 21-carat gold will cost Tk 240,920 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has been set at Tk 206,511 per bhori. Gold produced through the traditional method will now cost Tk 168,195 per bhori.
Previously, on April 6, BAJUS had reduced gold prices by Tk 2,158 per bhori, setting the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 245,819 per bhori.
So far this year, gold prices in Bangladesh have been adjusted 53 times. Among these adjustments, prices were increased 31 times and decreased 22 times. In 2025, gold prices were adjusted 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.
Along with gold, the price of silver has also increased. The price of 22-carat silver has been raised by Tk 350 per bhori to Tk 5,890.
Additionally, the price of 21-carat silver has been set at Tk 5,599 per bhori, 18-carat silver at Tk 4,782 per bhori, and traditional silver at Tk 3,616 per bhori.
This year, silver prices have been adjusted 32 times in the local market, including 18 increases and 14 decreases. In 2025, silver prices were adjusted 13 times, with 10 increases and 3 decreases.
