Pumping of 7,000 metric tons of refined diesel imported from the Numaligarh Refinery in Assam, India, has begun.

The fuel will reach the Padma Oil PLC depot in Parbatipur, Dinajpur, through the Bangladesh–India Friendship Pipeline.

He said the consignment consists of 7,000 metric tons of diesel, which is expected to reach the Parbatipur depot within approximately 65 hours after the pumping began.

He added that another 5,000 metric tons of diesel will be imported in the next phase.

According to officials, the country plans to import a total of 25,000 metric tons of diesel during the current month, of which 13,000 metric tons have already arrived in two consignments.
