State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud, has said that the country’s energy situation has significantly improved, with load shedding reduced considerably.

He made the remarks while participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the National Parliament.

“The public had concerns about fuel supply and electricity shortages not long ago, and even opposition members raised the issue. However, the situation has improved, with no long queues for petrol and reduced load shedding,” he said.

The minister noted that both the government and opposition are working together through a joint committee to further improve the energy sector.

Referring to the country’s development, he said efforts are ongoing to advance Bangladesh through continued leadership and policy measures.

Highlighting his political background, he mentioned his participation in past movements and struggles, emphasizing that the Liberation War of 1971 remains a source of national pride.

He added that without the events of 1971, an independent Bangladesh and its parliamentary democracy would not have been possible.
