Dhaka, June 10: Gold buyers in Bangladesh received another piece of good news as the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced a fresh reduction in gold prices. The latest adjustment cuts the price of 22-carat gold by BDT 6,591 per bhori (11.664 grams).
In a statement issued on Wednesday morning, BAJUS said the decision was taken following a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market. The revised rates came into effect from 10:00 AM on June 10.
Under the new pricing structure, a bhori of 22-carat gold will now cost BDT 222,782. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at BDT 212,635 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will sell for BDT 182,250. Traditional-method gold has been priced at BDT 148,424 per bhori.
This marks the third reduction in gold prices in recent weeks. Previously, on June 6, BAJUS reduced the price of 22-carat gold by BDT 5,482 per bhori, bringing it down to BDT 229,373.
So far in 2026, gold prices have been adjusted 72 times in Bangladesh, with 37 increases and 35 decreases. In 2025, the market witnessed 93 price revisions, including 64 hikes and 29 reductions.
Market observers say fluctuations in international gold prices and local raw gold costs are likely to continue influencing the domestic gold market in the coming months.
