Yeahia Mirza has been elected President of the Public Relations Association of Banks (PRAB), an organization representing public relations professionals working at banks in Bangladesh. Mirza serves as Head of PR and Media at City Bank PLC. Nazrul Islam, Head of Public Affairs and Brand Communication at Dutch-Bangla Bank, has been elected General Secretary of the organization.
The new leadership of PRAB was announced yesterday at a reception organized by Bonik Barta at a hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka. Moniruzzaman Tipu, the founding General Secretary of the organization, announced the names of the new leaders.
PRAB Founding President Ataur Rahman, outgoing President Shamsuddoha Shimu, General Secretary Jalal Ahmed Swapan, and other senior members of the organization were present on the stage.
PRAB was established in 2011, bringing together professionals working in the brand and communication departments of banks across the country. The organization is generally governed by a 33-member executive committee formed for a two-year term. Heads of public relations and branding at leading commercial banks, along with senior public relations officials of Bangladesh Bank, serve in various positions on the committee.
Regarding the formation of the full committee, Moniruzzaman Tipu said, “A 33-member executive committee will be formed through the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in November.”
More than 200 officials working in the public relations departments of scheduled banks and financial institutions across the country attended the reception organized by Bonik Barta.
