Syed Mizanur Rahman Appointed Managing Director of Meghna Bank PLC

Meghna Bank PLC has announced the appointment of Syed Mizanur Rahman as its new Managing Director, effective December 4, 2025. A highly experienced banking professional, Mr Rahman brings with him nearly three decades of expertise across the financial services sector.

Prior to joining Meghna Bank, he served as the Managing Director & CEO of AB Bank, where he contributed significantly to the institution’s strategic and operational growth.

Mr. Rahman began his career in 1993 with Novartis, formerly Ciba-Geigy (Bangladesh) Limited, before taking on roles at Youngone and Beximco. He later transitioned into the banking industry, holding key leadership positions at several renowned institutions, including Dhaka Bank, IPDC, Bank Al-Falah, and United Commercial Bank.

Throughout his career, he has developed extensive knowledge in branch banking, retail banking, process transformation, business development, and corporate communication, establishing himself as a well-rounded and strategic sector leader.

Mr. Rahman has also participated in numerous professional and management development programs both in Bangladesh and abroad, including the USA, Malaysia, and India, further strengthening his global perspective on banking and leadership.

He completed his MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, one of the most prestigious business schools in the country.

With his appointment, Meghna Bank is expected to benefit from his visionary leadership and deep industry insight as it continues its journey of growth and innovation.
