Prime Minister’s Address: People of Bangladesh Look to 13th Parliament with Hope Image collected

Following the election of Hafiz Uddin Ahmed as the Speaker of the 13th National Parliament, he delivered a speech of gratitude. Subsequently, Prime Minister Tariq Rahman also addressed the assembly.

In his address, Prime Minister Rahman emphasized that the current parliament belongs to the people of Bangladesh and that the people are looking towards it with great expectations. He pointed out that the previous decade and a half saw rulers who were not elected by the people. Rahman urged the Members of Parliament (MPs) to make the Parliament lively and meaningful through reasoned debates and discussions that serve the country and the people's best interests.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the crucial role of the Speaker in facilitating this process and expressed his commitment to assisting the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker in fulfilling their duties. He concluded by congratulating them on their election and reaffirming his support for their leadership.

This address underscores the high expectations placed on the new parliament by the people of Bangladesh, with a focus on ensuring accountability and representing the public's interests effectively.
