Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has said that the government is committed to fulfilling all expectations of the people. He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting held on Sunday afternoon at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) auditorium in Dhaka, marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahman, organized by the BNP.

The Prime Minister said the government is running the state inspired by the ideology of Ziaur Rahman, and that implementing the election manifesto remains its core objective to meet public hopes and aspirations.

He warned that “a challenging and crucial time lies ahead” and called for unity and collective efforts to avoid harming the country’s future generations.

He added that the BNP’s manifesto has now become a national plan endorsed by the people, who have given a two-thirds majority mandate for its implementation.

Remembering Ziaur Rahman, he said the former president had aimed to build a self-reliant Bangladesh by gradually advancing every sector of the country.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir presided over the event, while senior party leaders and allied organization representatives also spoke.

The programme began with recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a one-minute silence and special prayers for the departed soul of Ziaur Rahman.
