State Minister Calls on Volunteer Organizations to Promote Moral Values in Society

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury has urged volunteer organizations to play a stronger role in promoting moral values and social responsibility alongside their humanitarian activities.

He said voluntary organizations make significant contributions to social welfare and community development, but their involvement in building ethical values and strengthening social cohesion is equally important.

The State Minister made the remarks while addressing the banquet session of the 6th Annual District Convention of Lions Clubs International District 315A3 held at a hotel in Banani, Dhaka.

He noted that international service organizations such as Lions Clubs are bringing positive changes to society through initiatives in education, healthcare, environmental protection, and humanitarian assistance.

Yasser Khan Choudhury emphasized the need for greater collaboration between the government, private sector, and volunteer organizations to accelerate national development and social progress.

He also highlighted the importance of teaching moral principles, honesty, and ethical values to school-going students, saying such efforts would help raise a responsible and principled future generation.

The convention was chaired by District Governor Mohammad Bellal Hossain, while Convention Chairman Advocate Md. Riazul Haque Bashir delivered the welcome address.

The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, the national anthem, and an oath-taking ceremony. A documentary showcasing the service activities of the district and its affiliated clubs was also screened.

During the event, the results of the district election were officially announced, and the District Governor-Elect, First Vice District Governor-Elect, and Second Vice District Governor-Elect were formally introduced.

Leaders, members, guests, and distinguished invitees from various levels of Lions Clubs attended the convention.
