Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has expressed optimism that the trial in the Ramisa murder case will be concluded swiftly, stating that the government is taking all necessary measures to support the judicial process.

Speaking at a media briefing held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday, the minister said the case has already witnessed significant progress in court proceedings.

According to him, 11 of the 12 listed witnesses have already testified before the court. The witnesses include medical professionals and forensic experts whose testimonies are considered crucial to the case.

“The expectation is that the trial will be completed within a short period. We are extending all necessary cooperation to facilitate the process,” the minister said.

While emphasizing that the government does not comment on matters under judicial consideration, Salahuddin Ahmed noted that authorities are ensuring the presence of investigating officers and witnesses at every hearing to avoid delays.

He also confirmed that the accused’s statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code has already been recorded.

Referring to court procedures, the minister said the court has reportedly instructed concerned parties not to discuss details of the case with outsiders without prior permission.

Expressing hope for an early verdict, he added that the timing and delivery of the final judgment remain solely within the jurisdiction of the court.
