ECNEC Meeting Held Under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s Chairmanship The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) held a meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The meeting began at 10:00 a.m. at the Public Administration Conference Room of the Cabinet Division in the Bangladesh Secretariat and concluded at 1:15 p.m., according to Deputy Press Secretary Zahidul Islam Rony.

The session focused on reviewing ongoing development initiatives and discussing key economic and infrastructure projects. Earlier, on May 18, the National Economic Council (NEC) approved an Annual Development Programme (ADP) worth Tk 308,924.83 crore for the upcoming fiscal year.

Previously, on May 12, ECNEC approved nine major development projects, including the Padma Barrage Project, which carries an estimated cost exceeding Tk 33,000 crore.

Among those attending the meeting were Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Power and Energy Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muqtadir, Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Health Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Agriculture Minister, Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon, and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam, alongside advisers and senior government secretaries.
