Prime Minister Tarique Rahman departed for Bangladesh on Friday after concluding his four-day official visit to China.

He left Beijing Daxing International Airport at 5:15 pm local time aboard a China Southern Airlines flight, according to the Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.

Chinese President’s Special Envoy Yue Xiaoyong saw off Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, at the airport. The prime minister and his spouse walked along the red carpet before boarding the aircraft.

The prime minister arrived in the Chinese city of Dalian on Monday night after completing a two-day official visit to Malaysia. During his stay in Dalian, he attended the World Economic Forum’s Summer Davos meeting.

On Wednesday, he travelled from Dalian to Beijing by high-speed bullet train. During his visit to the Chinese capital, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held bilateral talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and paid a courtesy call on Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

He also participated in an investment conference in Beijing aimed at promoting trade and investment cooperation between Bangladesh and China. Several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the visit to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different sectors.

Earlier, on June 21, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman travelled to Malaysia on a two-day state visit at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim before continuing his official visit to China.
