Fuel Station in Jatrabari Fined Tk 300,000 for Short Measurement

The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has fined a fuel station in Jatrabari, Dhaka, Tk 300,000 after detecting short measurement in five fuel dispensing units. All five units were shut down.
A mobile court led by BSTI Executive Magistrate Md Mahbubul Islam conducted the operation on Monday, September 28, with assistance from Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
The court inspected fuel measurements at Paur Filling Station, located at 8/6 B, Saydabad, Jatrabari. According to BSTI, all five dispensing units were found to be delivering less fuel than the required amount.
For every 10 litres, the units were found short by 530, 330, 300, 340 and 320 millilitres, respectively. The five units were closed, and the station was instructed to correct the measurements promptly. A fine of Tk 300,000 was also imposed.
BSTI Dhaka Field Officer (CM) Md Shahidul Alam and Examiner (Metrology, Chemistry) Milon Hossain served as prosecutors during the mobile court operation.
