Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology (ADUST) Holds Convocation 2025, Awards 2,326 Degrees

The Convocation of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology (ADUST) was held on Saturday, December 06, 2025. A total of 2,326 students were awarded graduation degrees during the ceremony.
The convocation took place at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka. The Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Professor Dr S. M. A. Faiz, was present as the Chief Guest.
The chief guest, Prof. Dr M. A. Faiyaz, extended greetings and best wishes to the graduating students of the university in his speech. He said, "You are the new architects of Bangladesh." He added, "Through your heroic self-sacrifice, we have received a new Bangladesh during the July movement." He further said, "The University’s function is to enrich knowledge and innovation. We must continue this effort. In this regard, the university's teachers and students must come forward together."
The former State Minister for Education, Dr A.N.M. Ehsanul Hoque Milan, delivered his speech as the Convocation Speaker. Professor Dr Mohammed Anwar Hossain, a Member of the University Grants Commission, also delivered a speech as the Special Guest.
Additionally, M. Shamsul Alam Liton, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology, and the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr Md. Jahangir Alam also spoke. Invited guardians, educationists, writers, journalists, members of the university's Trustee Board, and eminent personalities attended the event.
Convocation Speaker, Dr Anam Ehsanul Hoque Milan, addressed the fresh graduates, stating, "You have earned your graduate degree through several years of talent and hard work. But this is not the end; rather, it is the beginning. You are stepping into a world today that is changing much more and much faster than ever before. Your success depends on your continued effort, hard work, patience, and ability to adapt to circumstances".
Special Guest, UGC Member Professor Dr Md. Anwar Hossain said that this university, by reflecting the name, fame, and work of the great Bengali scholar of the eleventh century, Atish Dipankar, will play a role in developing citizens fit for the prosperous Bangladesh of the future. For this reason, he emphasised a curriculum capable of tackling the challenges of the 21st century for the students.
Shamsul Alam Liton, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), ADUST, congratulated the graduates, saying, "Today is a day of special honour and pride for us. At the same time, it reminds us of our responsibility. He stated that we cannot deny the reality of 40 lakh highly educated unemployed people in the country. Therefore, Atish Dipankar University has placed special emphasis on developing specialised skills alongside quality and up-to-date education. The Skills Development Institute (SDI) has already been established. Through this, our students are gaining practical competence, digital literacy, and vocational experience. Our objective is clear: investment in youth. We say that investment in the education of young people is the main determinant of their own and the country's prosperity".
On behalf of the University's Chancellor, His Excellency the President, the UGC Chairman, Professor Dr S. M. A. Faiz, conferred Graduate and Master's degrees and presented special awards to a total of 27 students. The Chairman also personally handed over the certificates and medals to the students.
Among the special awards, 6 students received the Chancellor's Award, 5 received the Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman's Award, and 16 received the Vice Chancellor's Award.
Later, a delightful cultural program and a special laser show were held.
