Renowned actor Pradeep Rawat passes away

Veteran Indian actor Pradeep Rawat has passed away. He breathed his last on Tuesday (August 4) at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He was 74.

According to Indian media reports, Rawat had been battling blood cancer for a long time. His death has prompted an outpouring of grief from fans and members of the film industry.

During a career spanning more than three decades, Rawat appeared in Hindi as well as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the villain in the 2005 Tamil blockbuster "Ghajini." His performance was so well received that he reprised the same role in the 2008 Hindi remake starring Aamir Khan.

Rawat also played a notable role in Aamir Khan's Oscar-nominated film "Lagaan." Television audiences fondly remember him as Ashwatthama in B.R. Chopra's iconic TV series "Mahabharat," where his performance earned widespread acclaim.

Throughout his career, he featured in several acclaimed films, including "Sarfarosh," "The Hero: Love Story of a Spy," "Stalin," and "Veeram." He made his Telugu film debut with S.S. Rajamouli's "Sye" in 2004 and went on to establish himself as one of South Indian cinema's most recognizable screen villains.

Pradeep Rawat's passing marks the end of an illustrious acting career, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances across Indian cinema and television.
