Tanjin Tisha Appears in Court Over Saree Case, Says She Seeks Justice

Television actress Tanjin Tisha has expressed hope of receiving justice after appearing in court in a case accusing her of fraud and breach of trust over a saree worth Tk 28,800. She said she would have no objection to appearing in court five more times if necessary.

She made the remarks while responding to journalists after a hearing on the extension of her bail and framing of charges at the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin on Tuesday, September 29.

Tisha said she respected the court and believed in the law. She added that she would appear in court as many times as required and hoped to leave the case with justice.

Her lawyer, Nihar Hossain Faruk, said the court would announce the next hearing date for the bail extension and framing of charges later in the day.

Tisha previously surrendered before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana on August 13 and was granted bail. A summons had been issued for her appearance on July 12.

After receiving bail, Tisha said she had appeared in court over an allegation that she had misappropriated a saree worth around Tk 28,000. She denied that any misappropriation or fraud had taken place and claimed that false information had been presented against her.

According to the case complaint, Tisha took a saree worth approximately Tk 28,800 from the online fashion page “Aponia.” The complaint alleges that she promised to promote the saree and pay for it but later stopped communicating.

In 2025, Aminul Islam, the administrator of the online fashion page, filed the case in court, accusing her of fraud and breach of trust.

The court recorded the complainant’s statement and directed the Detective Branch of police to investigate and submit a report. After the investigation, police submitted a report stating that preliminary evidence supported the allegations against Tisha. The court later accepted the report and issued a summons for her appearance on July 12.
