BTV announced the information through a notice published on its Facebook page on Tuesday (September 29).
The programme aims to discover talented children and teenagers from different parts of Bangladesh and encourage them to engage in cultural activities. Preliminary selection rounds will be held in different regions across the country, followed by divisional-level competitions. The final rounds and grand competition will take place in Dhaka.
Participants will be able to compete in a wide range of categories, including acting, recitation, storytelling and comedy, classical and general dance, patriotic and modern songs, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, folk songs, and Hamd-Naat.
Contestants will be divided into two groups based on age. Group A will be open to children aged 6 to under 11, while Group B will be open to participants aged 11 to 15.
A separate category will be available for Qirat, with participants aged 12 to 17 eligible to compete.
Launched on BTV in 1976, ‘Notun Kuri’ has become one of Bangladesh’s well-known platforms for nurturing cultural talent among children and teenagers. Over the years, the programme has helped introduce numerous performers in singing, acting, dancing and recitation.
