Popular Indian singer Arijit Singh is set to return to the stage with a nationwide concert tour following his announcement earlier this year that he would no longer take on new playback assignments.
Although the singer has stepped away from accepting new playback work, his fans will continue to hear his voice in films because of previously signed commitments. One of his upcoming songs will reportedly feature in Salman Khan’s much-awaited film ‘Matrubhumi’.
Meanwhile, fans who have been waiting to hear Arijit perform live can finally look forward to seeing him on stage again. The singer has announced his first India-wide concert tour since his playback retirement.
The tour will run from January to May 2027 and will cover nine Indian cities as Arijit celebrates two decades of his musical journey.
The tour will begin in Ahmedabad on January 9, 2027. He will then perform in Chandigarh, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Pune, Indore and Hyderabad.
However, Kolkata is missing from the announced schedule, prompting questions among some fans about why the singer has not included his home state in the tour. Discussions over the omission have already emerged after Arijit shared the concert schedule.
Reflecting on the upcoming tour, Arijit said he feels deeply grateful for his 20-year musical journey. He considers the love of listeners to be the greatest achievement of his career, saying their support has given new life to his songs.
The singer also expressed his excitement about travelling across the country and sharing that connection with audiences in person. He said he is looking forward to revisiting years of songs and memories while meeting listeners once again.
