Singer Tasrif Khan has announced plans to take legal action over an alleged AI-generated song that was combined with footage from one of his concerts and circulated widely on social media.

Titled ‘I Have a Plan’, the audio-video has sparked discussion and criticism online. Tasrif alleges that his voice and concert footage were used without his permission.

According to the singer, the content was not created merely for entertainment but was deliberately produced to harass him and create confusion surrounding his identity.

On Tuesday (October 6), Tasrif said he was almost certain that the viral song had been generated using artificial intelligence. He also announced plans to file a general diary (GD) and take legal action against those responsible.

“I am 99.99 percent sure the song was created using AI. It cannot be anyone’s genuine composition,” Tasrif said.

He believes footage from one of his concerts was collected and then combined with AI-generated audio to create the final audio-visual content. The video was subsequently circulated across multiple social media pages.

Tasrif also suspects that the incident may have a political motive. He claims that his photographs and concert footage were used alongside allegedly defamatory remarks about the government, potentially creating controversy involving both the government and himself.

“I feel like they are trying to kill two birds with one stone. The government is being portrayed negatively, while my photos and videos are being used to associate me with it,” he said.

Tasrif initially tried to avoid giving the matter much attention. However, he later decided to pursue legal action after discovering that the video had reportedly been uploaded to more than a hundred social media pages.

The singer first attempted to have the content removed through the platforms’ standard reporting mechanisms. But as the video continued to spread across multiple pages, he said the process had not produced the desired result.

Tasrif now believes intervention by law enforcement agencies is necessary to stop the circulation of the video. Alongside filing a GD, he is preparing to address the matter through legal channels.

The incident comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of AI to create or manipulate people’s voices, images and videos without their consent.
