Bangladesh's film industry is set to witness a new technological milestone with the upcoming short film 'Gap', which has been produced entirely using artificial intelligence (AI). Directed by Mabrur Rashid Bannah, the film has received clearance from the Bangladesh Film Certification Board without requiring any cuts. Board members also praised the production after watching it.

The film features Ark Shihab, Mabrur Rashid Bannah, Rizvi Riju, Sinthia Yasmin Nupur, Mishti Ghosh, Momena Chowdhury, Saiful Islam Rafi and Jahangir Alam, who contributed to its performances and visual production.

According to director Mabrur Rashid Bannah, 'Gap' is more than just a film; it represents a distinctive and bold initiative in Bangla cinema. Although the idea of creating an entire film using AI initially seemed impossible to many, the production team remained committed to the project. After extensive work with various world-class AI tools, every scene was brought to life. Bannah considers receiving certification without any cuts a major achievement for the entire team. He believes the film will demonstrate that internationally competitive productions can be made even with limited budgets and manpower.

Sources familiar with the project said AI technology was used extensively in developing the screenplay, characters, animation, background score and visual effects. Produced by Akbar Haider Munna, the film is scheduled to premiere on October 31 on the YouTube channel of Club Eleven Entertainment.
