Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turns 61 today, November 2. Marking the occasion, the makers of his much-anticipated action thriller ‘King’ have surprised fans with the release of its first song, ‘Tu Mil Jaye’. Released at midnight, the romantic track has already generated considerable buzz.

The film’s first look was unveiled on Shah Rukh’s 60th birthday last year. Although fans were hoping for a teaser or trailer this time, the makers instead released a music video featuring the much-loved romantic chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.

The song features vocals by Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi, along with a rap performance by internationally renowned pop star Ed Sheeran. Offering a glimpse into Siddharth Anand’s directorial venture, the video opens with Shah Rukh’s iconic dialogue: “Main qaatil nahi, aashiq hoon, aur nishana meri mashuka, aur woh aashiq hi kya jo dil cheer na de.”

The opening sequences show Shah Rukh and Deepika sharing romantic moments in picturesque locations. Shah Rukh appears with his familiar charm and stylish short black hair, while Deepika captivates with her signature elegance. But the video is not limited to romance. It also hints at a darker, more intense storyline, revealing glimpses of Shah Rukh’s character, who is connected to the underworld and smuggling.

The romantic mood suddenly gives way to bloody action and violence. Shah Rukh’s salt-and-pepper look, bloodstains on his body and brutal fight sequences against a fiery backdrop stand out in the video.

Featuring music composed by Sachin-Jigar, ‘King’ is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24. Alongside Shah Rukh and Deepika, the cast includes Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Thirty-four years ago, a young man made his screen debut with the song ‘Koi Na Koi Chahiye, Pyar Karne Wala…’. With youthful energy, untidy hair and big dreams in his eyes, he began a journey that would eventually make him the King of Bollywood. Today, Shah Rukh Khan has millions of admirers not only in India but across the world. Even at 61, his romantic appeal and life lessons continue to inspire younger generations in the film industry.
