Hillary Clinton to Testify Before U.S. House Panel in Epstein Investigation

Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify behind closed doors on Thursday before a Republican-led House Oversight Committee probing the network and influence of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This marks a significant development in a high-profile congressional inquiry that has drawn intense political scrutiny.
Clinton, who was the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, initially declined to appear after receiving a subpoena but later agreed to give a deposition when lawmakers signaled they would pursue contempt of Congress charges if she did not comply.
Her testimony will take place in Chappaqua, New York, near her home, and will be recorded for public release later, although the session itself is not open to cameras.
Clinton has said she has limited personal knowledge related to Epstein and has denied any wrongdoing or direct ties to his crimes, emphasizing that her interactions with Epstein were minimal and mostly connected to his associate Ghislaine Maxwell rather than Epstein himself.
The panel, led by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), is also set to hear from former President Bill Clinton on Friday. Bill Clinton’s previous interactions with Epstein, including several flights on Epstein’s private plane for charity work, have drawn attention, although he has denied any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities.
Republicans argue that the depositions are essential to uncover more details about Epstein’s network and how powerful figures may have been connected to him. However, Democrats have characterized the investigation as politically motivated, saying it is being used to shift scrutiny toward political opponents.
The high-stakes testimony comes as part of broader efforts to release and examine millions of pages of Epstein-related documents that have been made public under congressional mandate in recent months, offering new insights into the financier’s connections with influential individuals across society.
