Advocate Sakil Ahmad, a lawyer and young political organiser, has been appointed Secretary for Social Welfare in the new central committee of the National Citizen Party (NCP). He previously served as the party’s Joint Chief Coordinator.
His new appointment creates an opportunity to expand his role in the party’s organisational activities and social welfare initiatives.
Alongside his legal profession, Advocate Sakil Ahmad has been involved in political and organisational activities for several years. During his tenure in the NCP’s central leadership, he actively participated in the party’s organisational work and political programmes. He subsequently played a leadership role in the party’s organisational activities in Meherpur district.
As a legal professional associated with the Supreme Court, the rule of law, access to justice, and the protection of citizens’ rights remain important areas of his professional engagement. He is also involved in legal services and law-related training initiatives through Law Sheba and Success Law Academy.
His legal experience and organisational skills are expected to contribute to public service initiatives. He has also emphasised youth engagement, people-oriented politics and local development activities.
In his new role as the NCP’s Secretary for Social Welfare, he will have an opportunity to contribute to identifying public concerns and developing initiatives for disadvantaged communities. Political parties can play a constructive role in areas such as education, healthcare, employment, social security, and emergency assistance during disasters.
His political colleagues and well-wishers will be watching how he utilises his legal expertise and organisational experience to advance social welfare initiatives under his new responsibilities.
